Brisbane in November and summer is just around the corner.
Early in the month is the Brisbane International Film Festival.
This festival attracts visitors and locals to one of the the largest and most prestigious film festivals held in Australia.
Weatherwise, it's starting to get hotter and steamier in the city as the humidity rises and so does the rainfall! You can still enjoy the sights, just bring an umbrella and keep yourself hydrated.
No school holidays this month but you may see school children on excursions around the sights and attractions.
Towards the end of November, celebrations start for the annual school leavers (schoolies) and places like Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast are best avoided by those not part of the schoolie celebrations!

Beaches are great for families holidaying in Brisbane wanting to cool down!
Closest beaches to Brisbane CBD include Redcliffe and Clontarf. Head over to the islands (such as Moreton or North Stradbroke) for the day.
You can also day trip to beaches on the Sunshine Coast (1½ to 2 hours north) or Gold Coast (1 to 1½ hours south).
Gold Coast theme parks are a good excursion from Brisbane for the day. Most are located about an hour from Brisbane CBD and can be accessed by car, rail or bus.
The theme parks can get quite hot during these hot near summer days, so take clothes you don't mind getting wet or your swimming costumes and a towel as there are opportunities to cool down around most of the theme parks.

Typical Weather | A wetter month as we go into our rainy summer season with an average of 9 rainy days per month and on average rainfall of 110mm. Warm and humid this month, with little change in humidity levels during the day unless a summer storm is building in which case levels rise during the day. Summer storms are possible this month. |
# - Gold Coast sea temperature has been used because the data for Brisbane was hard to find. Moreton Bay can have significantly different temperatures than the general ocean temperatures and realistically you don't come to Brisbane for the beach, but you do go to Gold and Sunshine Coasts for that. This is just an indication.

Good time to visit Brisbane before the real heat and humidity of summer hit and before the big school holidays! Do anticipate the heat and the possibility of rain when planning what to pack.
When it rains at this time of year, the good news is it is usually heavy, warm and then gone! But you need to plan for it with umbrella or rain jacket. Light clothing is best at this time of the year.
